Final Exam 1
The Geosphere is often called the densest part of the earth, which contains the rock and solid parts of the earth. Some geologists refer to this layer of the earth as the lithosphere, but they can be used interchangeably. The Atmosphere is the layer of gases that protects us from the sun's rays. The Hydrosphere is the layer of the earth that contains all the water, ice, and water vapor. And the Biosphere is the layer of the earth that all living things live.
If one of these systems were to fail, such as the atmosphere the earth would be burnt to a crisp. As most people know the atmosphere is decreasing in size and letting in more harmful UV rays. According to geologists Average temperatures have gradually increased by 1.4 degrees F^o since about 1880. Also they predict a ice-less summer in 2040 or earlier.
